From April 30th to May 2nd, approximately 50,000 people flocked to tourist destinations in Quang Binh, primarily the Phong Nha-Ke Bang World Natural Heritage Site. Some tourist spots in Phong Nha, such as the Chay River - Dark Cave, saw a 280% increase compared to the same period last year, while Mooc Stream experienced a 300% increase.

This is the result of the proactive, responsible, and urgent response from relevant authorities and tourism businesses in Quang Binh following the unusual mass fish deaths.
Restaurants and hotels in the area simultaneously changed their menus, directing tourists to traditional destinations such as Phong Nha, Thien Duong (Paradise), Dark Cave, and Mooc Stream.
Thanks to this, during the three-day holiday, the number of visitors to the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Heritage Site remained stable, with some tourist spots experiencing a sudden surge, such as Phong Nha-Tien Son Cave: 13,000 visitors. Mooc Stream attracted 10,000 visitors, while Chay River - Dark Cave attracted nearly 3,000.
According to the Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourism Center, despite the high number of visitors, the center proactively provided clean food, regulated boat transportation, and arranged reasonable ticket sales, so all activities serving visitors continued normally, without any tour delays or cancellations, and no unfortunate incidents occurred.
Notably, from the afternoon of April 30th, the Quang Binh provincial authorities posted signs announcing that the results of monitoring the coastal seawater quality here met the standards for safe human activities.
Therefore, many provincial and Dong Hoi city leaders, as well as local people and tourists, began swimming in the sea. The number of beachgoers gradually increased on May 2nd. In addition, authorities have confirmed the safety of seafood caught in offshore waters, so many restaurants and hotels in Dong Hoi city are welcoming more customers who come to enjoy clean seafood from distant seas.
