During the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday, the "Magical Imperial Palace" program at the Hue Imperial Citadel became the center of attention, attracting thousands of people every evening.

Crowds Flock to the Imperial Citadel
The excitement from the "Magical Imperial Palace" night festival, held from April 25th to 28th, transformed Ngo Mon Gate into a massive gathering point for crowds during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day. Each evening, hundreds of people lined up in front of Ngo Mon Gate, filling the spacious courtyard before opening. As soon as the barriers were removed, the crowds poured inside, creating a lively atmosphere. Numerous videos capturing the brightly lit Imperial Citadel and the dense crowds pouring into Ngo Mon Gate continuously appeared on social media, attracting millions of views. The humorous saying, "Half of Vietnam is in Hue," was also widely shared. These unique nighttime cultural experiences not only revitalized the heritage site but also significantly increased the length of stay for visitors to Hue. From early morning to late night, central streets including Hung Vuong, Dong Da, Le Loi, the Imperial Citadel area, pedestrian streets, night markets, and famous eateries are bustling with people. People from all over flock to the ancient capital in ever-increasing numbers, creating a rare and vibrant atmosphere.

Royal Palace Night
Taking place from 8 PM on the evenings of April 25th to 28th as part of the Hue Festival 2026, "The Enchanted Royal Palace" is an elaborately staged event, harmoniously combining traditional art and modern technology. From the very first moments, the changing of the guard ceremony at Ngo Mon Gate and the spectacular cannon firing create a solemn and breathtaking atmosphere. The journey takes visitors through a dazzling light system, a 3D mapping performance on Trung Dao Bridge, and a lantern dance by palace maidens. At Thai Hoa Palace, the theatrical reenactment of the Imperial Court ceremony vividly recreates the atmosphere of the Nguyen Dynasty's court, transporting the audience back in time. A highlight not to be missed is the military parade with flag dances, staff dances, spear fighting, archery, and stunning fire effects. Interspersed throughout are the Royal Palace Market, royal court games, ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) fashion show, a virtual reality experience "Searching for the Lost Royal Palace," and many other engaging interactive activities.
